TG Ed.CET Eligibility & Seat Reservation Explained (2025)

If you are planning to take admission in a B.Ed course in Telangana, then TG Ed.CET 2025 is the entrance exam you must appear for. But before applying, it’s very important to know whether you are eligible and what reservation benefits you can get.

✅ TG Ed.CET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

  • You must be an Indian citizen.
  • You should belong to Telangana or Andhra Pradesh (as per local/non-local rules).

2. Educational Qualification

  • You should have passed or be appearing in the final year of any Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, B.E., B.Tech, BBA, BCA, M.A., M.Sc., etc.)
  • You must have at least 50% marks in your qualifying degree.
    👉 For SC/ST/BC/PH candidates, minimum 40% marks is enough.

📌 Note: For B.E. / B.Tech students, only those with Mathematics and Science background can apply for the Mathematics or Physical Sciences methodology.


3. Minimum Age Limit

  • You must be at least 19 years old as on 1st July 2025.
  • There is no upper age limit.

4. Subjects You Studied Matter

You must have studied at least one school subject as a part of your graduation to choose your methodology in B.Ed.

🪑 TG Ed.CET Seat Reservation Rules (2025)

Seat reservation is provided based on category and local/non-local status. Below is the reservation breakdown as per Telangana state government rules.

📍 Local & Non-Local Reservation

  • 85% of B.Ed seats are reserved for Local candidates (students from Telangana).
  • 15% seats are open to Non-local candidates (Andhra Pradesh and others).

👉 Local area is decided based on the place of study for at least 4 consecutive academic years before qualifying degree.


📝 Summary

  • You need minimum 50% marks in graduation (40% for SC/ST/BC/PH).
  • Age must be 19+ years.
  • Choose your B.Ed subject (methodology) based on your graduation subjects.
  • Reservations apply for SC, ST, BC, EWS, PH, NCC, CAP, and women.
